Description:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the following:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage tax reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Indirectly manage a small team
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.

Requirements:

A successful Senior Accountant should have:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA or CA.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Big-4 or Mid-tier audit or business services experience preferred
  • Proven expertise in financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
