Description:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the following:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage tax reporting and compliance requirements.
- Indirectly manage a small team
- Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
Requirements:
A successful Senior Accountant should have:
- Excellent communication skills
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA or CA.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Big-4 or Mid-tier audit or business services experience preferred
- Proven expertise in financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
