Description:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll function for a workforce of over 3,000 employees across multiple sites.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll using Chris21, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
  • Supervise and support a team of payroll officers, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently, including new hires, terminations, leave entitlements, and adjustments.
  • Maintain and update payroll systems and employee records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end processes.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment and accuracy of payroll-related data.
  • Manage payroll audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary updates to processes and systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
  • Respond to complex payroll queries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory obligations such as PAYG, superannuation, and Single Touch Payroll (STP).

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience managing end-to-end payroll for large, complex organisations
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, develop, and manage a payroll team.
  • In-depth understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including awards, EBAs, superannuation, and tax obligations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience driving process enhancements and system efficiencies.
