About the Role
In this pivotal role, you'll manage the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) frameworks across Council, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment. You’ll cultivate strong cross-functional partnerships, fostering a collaborative risk-aware culture. With oversight of the Council’s risk management framework, you’ll manage risk assessments, reporting systems, and the enterprise-wide risk register while championing Council’s Business Continuity Planning. The role includes delivering high-level reports to the Executive and Audit Committee, advising on legal and regulatory impacts, and supporting policy governance through regular reviews and register maintenance. You’ll also manage key compliance functions including Right to Information, Public Interest Disclosures, Privacy, and Complaints—ensuring legislative integrity and proactive issue resolution throughout the organisation.
About You
A motivated professional with proven experience in championing a strong safety culture through visible leadership and strict adherence to Health Safety Management Systems. A degree in Law, Risk, or a related field is essential, along with a solid background in Risk, Compliance, Assurance, and Policy. You'll thrive in a collaborative environment, applying your analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement, and customer service strengths across the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) portfolio—including RTI, Privacy, PID, complaints management, and policy governance.
