Description:
The Director provides leadership to enable the provision by the department of high quality child and family services by applying contemporary, robust, best practice case review and continuous improvement frameworks.The Director leads and manages the Child Safe Organisations – reportable conduct and child safe standards team within the Office of the Chief Practitioner.
As Director You Will
- Coordinate the implementation of child safe standards across the Department of Families, Seniors and Disability Services and Child Safety, to embed child safety and wellbeing in the organisation's leadership, governance and culture.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in the organisation, to ensure policies and procedures relating to children's safety are regularly reviewed and improved.
- Lead the establishment of a reportable conduct unit in the Office of the Chief Practitioner to receive and respond to reportable allegations relating to carers.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships across the organisation and with key external parties to support implementation of and compliance with the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024.
- Provide authoritative and strategic advice to senior management on issues relating to child safe organisations, in accordance with the various Acts and the department's policy and procedures.
- Contribute through the Office of the Chief Practitioner leadership team to the analysis of key legislative, policy and practice issues that impact on the delivery of effective and efficient service delivery to children, young people and families.
- Manage the human, financial and operational resources of the work unit to ensure the achievement of strategic and business objectives.
