  • Salary range: $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse (Identified) to permanently join the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS) ‘First Nations Patient Journey Hub'. This new service facilitates a culturally capable and responsive health care journey for First Nations patients from the Townsville University Hospital (TUH) to community care pathways. The service will be provided through a Nurse and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Worker led model. It aims to strengthen partnerships with local and regional General Practitioners, as well as primary and community care networks to improve outcomes for First Nations patients and deliver best practice through effective integrated care.

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Travel: Please note, from time-to-time this position will be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities located within the Townsville HHS to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities.
  • Identified role: Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
