This role will be supported by our internal accounting/finance team, which consists of several experienced accountants.
About the role
Healthy Business Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper/Payroll Officer to join our growing team in Welland on a part-time (3-4 days) basis, with the potential to become full-time.
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and supporting the overall financial operations of our clients.
What you'll be doing
Bookkeeping

Manage all bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger and balance sheet maintenance

Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS)

Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports

Provide administrative support and liaise with internal accountants as needed

Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient bookkeeping practices
Payroll

Manage and process client's payroll for all employees

Ensuring compliance with legislative and statutory requirements so that payments are disbursed timely and accurately

Responding to payroll queries in a timely and efficient manner
What we're looking for
-
At least 5 years of experience in a senior bookkeeping or payroll officer role, preferably within a small to medium-sized business.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and payroll processing. A qualification would an advantage.

Proficient in Xero accounting software, Access MicrOpay or similar payroll system, Microsoft 365 Office Suite

MINFOS Pharmacy Management (Highly desirable)

Knowledge and interpretation of Modern awards

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Strong organisational and time management abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
