The Opportunity
We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Industry Support Officer to join our client’s team. This role plays a critical part in operations by supporting the attraction, preparation, placement, and retention of apprentices.
You’ll work closely with schools, job networks, training providers, employers, and internal team members to create real career pathways and make a genuine impact in people’s lives.
What You’ll Do
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of apprentices
- Coordinate work trials and assist with apprentice placements
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM system
- Assist with career expos, school visits and hands-on try-a-trade events
- Build strong relationships with employers, schools, and industry partners
- Promote job vacancies and help match the right candidate to the right employer
- Provide follow-up support to improve apprentice retention
- Assist out-of-trade apprentices to re-enter the industry
- Contribute to local and interstate promotional and networking activities
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Strong networking and communication skills
- Proactive and self-motivated attitude
- Ability to manage time and priorities effectively
- Comfortable working both independently and in a small, supportive team
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office and CRM/database familiarity)
- Current driver’s license, White Card, and Working with Children Check
- Willingness to travel and attend occasional after-hours events
- Knowledge of the construction industry
- Understanding of the VET system or school pathways
- First aid and CPR certificates
- CRM system experience
