The Opportunity:
McArthur is seeking an experienced Customer Service Officer, with strong experience in public-facing services. This role helps to resolve enquiries through clear and confident communication, and supports the application process through the handling and assessment of documentation or information.
This role is integral to the processing of National documents, and is a full-time opportunity that requires the successful applicant to work on site. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen to apply and can obtain a clear Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
An active Baseline Security Clearance is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver courteous, efficient, and professional service at the front counter. This includes interviews, enquiries, collections, and document handling.
- Communicating with various stakeholders, including the public.
- Conducting quality assurance checks on travel documents before and after printing.
- Handling high-value, high-risk inventory securely and managing document spoilage/destruction per policy.
- Operate printers and laminators, with basic maintenance.
- Perform high-speed, accurate data entry, scanning, and document processing.
- Performing general administrative duties, including records management, inbox monitoring, invoice payments, and liaising with stakeholders on refunds and returned documents.
Selection Criteria:
- Prior experience in Government services, or public-facing environments.
- Prior experience interpreting and applying legislation, policies & procedures.
- An ability to manage your workload autonomously and make independent assessments and decisions when required.
- Strong problem-solving experience using sound judgment and risk awareness.
- High level communicative skills both written and verbal.
