We're recruiting for a major Australian manufacturer and supplier of steel that helps build everything from homes and hospitals to major infrastructure. Their Townsville site is growing, and they're looking for a dependable Forklift Operator who's keen to be part of something bigger.
This role involves working in a busy steel yard where you'll be responsible for safely moving, loading, and organising steel materials for delivery. You'll play a key role in making sure prefabricated steel kits are picked, packed and sent out to customers on time.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Safely operate forklifts (counterbalance and high reach)
- Pick and pack prefabricated steel kits (sheds, fencing, carports)
- Confident reading and following pick lists or job sheets
- Follow site safety rules and use PPE correctly
- Work as part of a team to meet deadlines
What You'll Need:
- A valid Forklift Licence (LF)
- Previous experience using forklifts in a yard, warehouse, or factory
- Fit for physical work and aware of safe manual handling
- Strong awareness of workplace safety
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Shifts:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am to 2:30pm
- Friday: 6:00am to 12:00pm
- Overtime and Saturday work may be available
