Health Monitoring Officer
About your new role
We are seeking a detail-focused and professional Health Monitoring Officer to join the Health & Wellbeing team, part of the City’s Safety & Wellbeing Branch. In this role, you will support the effective delivery and administration of the City’s legislatively driven Health Monitoring Program. This includes managing medical assessment coordination, health data systems, and delivering key compliance programs such as audiometric testing and respiratory protection fit testing.
This role is centred around supporting the City’s legislative responsibilities under the WHS Regulation 2011, particularly Schedule 14, through the coordination and administration of health surveillance programs. It involves structured monitoring of occupational exposures, accurate medical data handling, and respectful communication with workers all carried out with professionalism and a strong duty of care.
What you’ll be doing:
- Coordinating pre-employment and ongoing medical assessments for workers.
- Managing and delivering hearing testing and respiratory fit testing programs across the organisation.
- Maintaining accurate medical records, test results, and administrative documentation.
- Having respectful and sensitive conversations with workers about health outcomes.
- Presenting health information to large groups, including toolboxes and education sessions.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure timely, quality service.
- Handling purchasing, invoicing, and process improvements using systems like SAP.
- Actively contributing to broader Health & Wellbeing initiatives as required.

You will have attention to detail, strong communication skills, and proactive mindset all while demonstrating the City’s High-Performance Principles in the way you work.
We’re looking for people who have:
- C-Class Driver’s Licence (required)
- Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (required)
- Occupational Audiometry Training (desired)
- Quantitative Respiratory Fit Testing Training (desired)
- General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Experience in a medical, health administration, or occupational health environment
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with a focus on data accuracy and confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver group presentations and individual consults
- Understanding of WHS legislation and health surveillance obligations
