The Role
Do you have supervisory experience in the maintenance or construction field?
You will undertake a range of tasks, including the inspection, programming, resource and subcontract supervision related to road infrastructure renewal activities, civil construction works and associated activities with particular attention to gravel and sealed road resurfacing.
Responsibilities include:
- Working collaboratively to develop and monitor the delivery of unsealed road resheeting and sealed road resealing programs
- Provide leadership, direction and encouragement to employees and contractors while delivering capital works projects and programs
- Monitor the progress of construction projects and programs in both physical and financial performance
- Ensure compliance of all staff and contractors with respect to OH&S legislation, risk management requirements, environmental and other policies and procedures
The role is based at our Depot in Adam Street, Golden Square. Hours of work are Monday – Friday, 7.30am – 4.00pm, working a 9 day fortnight. You may be required to travel to job sites, at the beginning, during the day or end of day, if required, a commuter use vehicle will be available for this role in accordance with the City’s Fleet Policy.
About You
As the successful candidate you will:
- Have demonstrated supervisory experience in civil construction and/or maintenance
- Have the ability to plan and execute works within a program and budget with good organisational and computer skills
- Experience safely operating a range of relevant plant and equipment
- Be an effective team player
- Maintain solid working relationships with stakeholders
A current driver’s licence is required with Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) endorsement being desirable.
A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.
