About Blackwater North State SchoolBlackwater is situated approximately 200km west of Rockhampton and 55km from the beautiful Blackdown Tableland. It is predominantly a coal mining town with six coal mines operating in the district. It has a core population of around 5,000 people.
Blackwater North State School is a primary school catering for students from Prep to Year 6. The school is set in pleasant grounds with shaded areas for the children to sit and enjoy their lunch. The school's design is low set taking into consideration the needs of students with disabilities. This is especially important because there is a Special Needs Program in the school that cares for students with varying individual requirements.
