About the work unit / facilityCardiac Services at Townsville HHS delivers high quality, comprehensive care within a modern, well-equipped facility.* Cardiac Catheterisation Suite features two labs (including biplane), performing ~1500 angiograms and ~400 PCIs annually, plus advanced electrophysiology services.
* Cardiac Investigations Unit conducts ~2500 echo studies yearly, including 3D, transoesophageal, and stress echocardiography, alongside Holter monitoring, stress testing, and ambulatory BP.
* Cardiothoracic Surgery performs ~500 cases annually.
* Includes a dedicated cardiac ward, ICU, CCU, Chest Pain Unit, and Heart Failure Service.
* Regional outreach clinics extend to Mt Isa, Ingham, Charters Towers, Ayr, Palm Island, and the North West HHS.

* Salary range: $210,332 to $266,677 p.a. (L18-L27)
* 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
* 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
* Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
* Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
* Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a.

About your opportunity
* Provide expert Clinical Cardiology services, including advanced Echocardiography techniques (Transoesophageal, 3D, Dobutamine Stress), Cardiac CT, and Cardiac MRI.
* Contribute to medical research and engage in teaching to support and inspire the next generation of health professionals.
* Lead and manage the delivery of medical services across hospital, community, and outreach settings.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) qualifications (or equivalent).
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Cardiac, CT/Cardiac, MRI).
* Registration as a Specialist Cardiologist with Medical Board of Australia.
* Advanced clinical experience in Cardiology, expertise in echocardiography including transthoracic echo, Transesophageal echo, Stress echocardiography and 3D Echocardiography.
