The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef who will take responsibility for producing high-quality desserts, viennoiseries, and baked goods. You will work closely with the Head Chef to curate seasonal dessert menus and uphold our high standards of presentation, flavour, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and present French-style pastries, plated desserts, and cakes
Manage mise en place and production schedules for pastry section
Maintain inventory, monitor stock rotation, and place necessary orders
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are followed
Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials
Train and supervise junior staff if required
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum 2 years’ full-time experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
Relevant Certificate III or higher in Patisserie or Commercial Cookery
Strong knowledge of French cuisine
Demonstrated expertise in artisan desserts, plated sweets, or viennoiserie
Excellent time management and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
Strong attention to detail and creative flair
Understanding of HACCP and kitchen safety standards
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Knowledge of French language is highly regarded, as the rest of the team and a lot of customers are French.
