For over five decades, Brophy Family Services has been a vital presence in South West Victoria, evolving from a residential service for troubled boys into a contemporary, multi-site, values-led organisation providing over 45 programs to more than 4,000 individuals annually .
With a team of over 170 staff , Brophy delivers an integrated suite of services across youth mental health, family support, housing, family violence, and early intervention , operating throughout Warrnambool, Hamilton, Portland , and surrounding communities. We are a financially sound , strategically mature , and culturally strong organisation governed by a committed community-based Board.

The Opportunity
We are now seeking an outstanding leader to step into the role of Chief Executive Officer , continuing Brophy's legacy while driving our future direction. This is a rare opportunity to lead a highly regarded organisation at a time of stability, credibility, and readiness for growth.
This role will suit a leader who is motivated by genuine community impact, committed to systemic change, and capable of guiding strategic and operational excellence at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and organisational oversight, ensuring alignment with Brophy's mission, values, and long-term goals.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with the Board, staff, community, government, partners, and funding bodies.
- Champion and evolve Brophy's Advantaged Thinking framework in local and national contexts.
- Foster a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven culture.
- Ensure strong financial stewardship, governance, risk management, and compliance.
- Actively contribute to sector leadership, advocacy, and place-based policy development.
About You
You are a seasoned and values-aligned executive leader with a demonstrated track record in leading complex, purpose-driven organisations, ideally in the community services, health, or broader not-for-profit sector.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in strategic leadership, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong understanding of regional and place-based service delivery and the role of community anchor organisations.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- A commitment to social justice, strengths-based practice, and inclusive leadership.
- Experience working with a Board in a governance framework.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences, health, community services, business, or related fields.
