Your part in our UnitingCare team
We are currently seeking to appoint a Family Counsellor to work as a part of our UnitingCare Family and Relationship Service based at Gympie.
In this role you will:

provides individual, couple and group counselling and education with an aim to strengthen family relationships
-
prevent breakdown and ensure the wellbeing and safety of children and adults who live in all kinds of families.
Essential to the role is:
-
sound knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to provide counselling and related services within a therapeutic context to a range of clients with issues including, but not limited to, domestic and family violence, sexual abuse, child abuse, relationship discord and grief and loss.

Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, oral and written communication and advocacy skills are required along with a proven ability to work co-operatively within a multi-disciplinary team in a complex human services environment.
What makes a difference for us?

Possession of a Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution coupled with prior experience.

Qld Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card).
