Job Title: Barista

Position Summary:
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light snacks in the motel’s coffee shop and bar area. The role ensures consistent service standards, excellent customer experience, and smooth operation of the café and bar in conjunction with the motel, restaurant, and conference facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve espresso coffee, specialty drinks, teas, and cold beverages to a high standard.
Operate commercial coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and POS systems.
Maintain knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and beverage presentation.
Provide excellent customer service, take orders, and process payments accurately.
Prepare and serve light snacks, cakes, and sandwiches as required.
Monitor stock levels of coffee, milk, syrups, and bar supplies; assist in inventory management.
Ensure the café/bar area, equipment, and utensils are clean and maintained to health and safety standards.
Assist in creating seasonal drink specials and contributing to menu development.
Support bar operations during events, including serving alcoholic beverages if RSA certified.
Work collaboratively with the motel and restaurant team to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Barista in a café, restaurant, or hotel environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, milk texturing, and latte art desirable.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders.
Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling.
Basic food handling and hygiene knowledge.
RSA certification (for serving alcohol in bar area).
Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and during special events.
Employment Details:
Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week).

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000
