About This OpportunityThis is an impactful appointment within the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences, offering a unique opportunity to lead the integration of Indigenous perspectives into the heart of our undergraduate teaching and learning programs.
You will play a pivotal role in reshaping curricula, embedding Indigenous knowledge systems, pedagogies, and methodologies across a broad range of scientific disciplines. From developing and delivering course materials and providing support to experienced course coordinators, your contributions will help influence how the next generation of scientists understand and engage with Indigenous worldviews.
This role goes beyond the classroom. You will have the opportunity to strengthen the School’s connections with industry, government, professional bodies and the broader community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The University’s Strategic Plan outlines strategies aimed at increasing opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, which are supported through the development of a Reconciliation Action Plan and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy. Here in Australia, we especially want to play a leading role in reconciliation as advocates with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

The position is therefore only open to Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
Applicants should possess an Honours or higher qualification or equivalent in a science related discipline, and/or recognised experience in the indigenisation of curriculum in a tertiary setting or an equivalent combination of relevant qualifications and experience.
Additionally, you will demonstrate:

Strong familiarity with the relevant concepts of indigenisation of curricula.

Ability to develop or developed relationships, including professional networks with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, and collaborations with Indigenous researchers.

Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in teaching at a secondary or tertiary education level.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, particularly the ability to articulate Indigenous concepts and present complex analyses with clarity and professionalism to a multidisciplinary environment.
