The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is on a bold journey towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond.

The QAS has an ambitious high-performance strategy for the 2032 Games is to create more medal-winning moments for Queensland athletes that inspire their state and nation. We are seeking a Corporate Data Analyst, who will be responsible for developing and maintaining business intelligence visualisations and analytics products and services. This includes supporting transformational change by ensuring the QAS can extract maximum value from its data holdings, having a strong track record building, implementing, and maintaining analytics and insights products and services and working with a wide range of datasets to draw business insights.

Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Gathering and consolidating data from various sources, ensuring data quality, integrity and usability.
  • Implement processes to ensure timely availability of relevant data assets.
  • Work with the Operations team to capture requirements for business intelligence products.
  • Apply statistical techniques and data mining methods to identify trends and patterns.
  • Create and maintain visualisations required to support the QAS's strategies.
  • Perform validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency of data.
  • Work with the Performance Data team, and the broader QAS team to define and/or implement and ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures.
  • Assist in data and analytics projects, including project ideation and design.
  • Prepare technical documents including data dictionaries, as built specifications and testing plans.
  • Train QAS employees in the use of data and insights to contribute to the QAS continuous improvement culture.
