We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially astute Head of Fleet & Procurement, reporting to the VP Finance / Chief Financial Officer, to lead the Group’s end-to-end procurement function and national fleet strategy across a highly regulated, asset-intensive environment.

This role is critical to ensuring our crane fleet, transport assets, services, materials and supplier partnerships support safe, compliant and cost-effective operations across Mining, Oil & Gas, Renewables and major Infrastructure projects.

About The Role

Reporting to the VP Finance / CFO, the Head of Fleet & Procurement has accountability for all elements of business procurement, including capital equipment, fleet, services and operational spend, with a strong emphasis on heavy assets and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Lead Enterprise-Wide Procurement Strategy Own and continuously improve procurement frameworks covering fleet, capital equipment, subcontracted services, parts, consumables and indirect spend, ensuring alignment with financial controls, risk management and business strategy.
• Fleet & Capital Asset Procurement Leadership Oversee end-to-end procurement of cranes, heavy vehicles, lifting equipment and fleet replacements, applying disciplined capital governance, lifecycle costing and asset standardisation.
• Enable Operational & Customer Outcomes Ensure procurement decisions support service reliability, fleet availability, safety compliance and project delivery across complex, time-critical operating environments.
• Drive Value, Cost Optimisation & Continuous Improvement Develop category strategies, improve supplier performance, leverage scale, and identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership while maintaining quality and safety outcomes.
• Supplier & OEM Relationship Management Build and manage strategic relationships with OEMs, dealers, service providers and key suppliers, including contract negotiation, performance management and issue resolution.
• Governance, Reporting & Executive Support Act as the escalation point for procurement and fleet matters, provide executive-level reporting, support budgeting and capital planning, and contribute to strategic reviews and risk management processes.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

You are a commercially focused procurement leader with experience operating in complex, asset-heavy and safety-critical industries. You are comfortable working closely with Finance, Operations and Executive leadership to balance commercial discipline with operational realities.

Ideally, You Will Have

• 3–5+ years’ experience in procurement, with accountability across multiple spend categories (essential).
• 3–5+ years’ experience in fleet, heavy vehicle or capital equipment procurement (desirable).
• Strong understanding of capital expenditure governance, lifecycle costing and supplier contracts.
• Experience partnering with Finance and reporting into a senior financial leader (essential).
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (essential).
• Exposure to technical supply chains or complex equipment procurement (desirable).
• Knowledge of cranes, heavy transport, Mining, Oil & Gas, Renewables or Infrastructure sectors (highly desirable).
• Strong analytical, organisational and commercial problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management capability.
• Ability to operate autonomously while influencing outcomes across a national organisation.
• Relevant procurement, supply chain, commercial or finance qualifications (desirable).
