With a distinctive record of growth in research and deep partnerships across government and industry, Flinders University’s College of Science and Engineering is seeking capable and dedicated academic leaders in Maritime Defence Engineering to join as Professors (Level E) or Associate Professors (Level D).
These appointments will place you at the heart of a modern and ambitious research agenda. You will lead globally impactful research, education, and industry partnerships that extend Flinders University’s national and international reputation. You will have the opportunity to build new teams, secure major research funding, and collaborate widely across academia, government, and defence industry partners in Australia and beyond. Areas of specialisation include trusted autonomous systems, navigation and control systems, intelligent decision-making, signal processing, shipbuilding and marine systems, and marine corrosion and biofouling. Working within the Flinders Centre for Defence Engineering Research and Training, you will help deliver innovative solutions to real-world defence engineering challenges. Your research has consistently reached beyond the academy, engaging productively with industry and government partners to deliver innovations and solutions that address real-world challenges. You have a strong record of translating research into measurable outcomes, whether through advanced technologies, sustainable practices, or improved processes that shape the future of defence engineering. Most importantly, you will bring expertise that both complements and amplifies the College of Science and Engineering’s research portfolio.
