Description:

You will be joining the Child Protection Information Management Unit, a newly implemented and strategically important team within the Queensland Police Service (QPS), established in response to the introduction of the Reportable Conduct Scheme (RCS) and Child Safe Organisations (CSO) legislation. This new role has been created to lead the team responsible for the lawful, timely and child-focused sharing of information between QPS and the Reportable Conduct Scheme.

A key feature of the role is relationship-building. You will work closely with areas within QPS, while also engaging with a wide range of Child Safe Organisations and external stakeholders, helping to build trusted partnerships and consistent information-sharing practices across the sector. The work is complex, sensitive and highly collaborative. The Unit reports to the AO8, Policy and Programs Unit, within the Child Abuse and Sexual Crime Group (CASCG) located at Queensland Police Headquarters.

Your Key Accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Drive and implement the Service's strategic agenda in relation to child abuse and exploitation, and implement key recommendations from the Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance QPS business improvement, including child abuse and sexual violence matters.
  • Provide expert advice, support and guidance to leadership teams, stakeholder groups and program and project teams in support of deliverables.
  • Lead and manage assigned program and project activities using contemporary program and project management and related frameworks, methodologies, and policies.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders that facilitates informed business decisions, improves business processes and meets changing business needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of the QPS and partner agencies to deliver initiatives in accordance with prioritised business objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of work deliverables, initiatives and business support priorities.
  • Develop and implement change management and communications initiatives that complement business improvements.


Role Requirements

Qualification

  • There are no mandatory requirements for this role, however, possession of a contemporary Project Management qualification/s and/or a tertiary qualification in a relevant field would be highly regarded, as would experience in Child Protection/Child Safety.

  • The successful applicant/s may be required to undergo psychometric assessment, prior to appointment.
