The QBCC is seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Administration Officer to support our Right to Information (RTI) and Information Privacy (IP) functions. The position provides high‑level administrative and operational support, ensuring these functions run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll play a central role in coordinating workflows, managing documentation, and supporting compliance activities across both teams.About The Role
As an Administration Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the effective processing and management of RTI and IP matters. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will ensure applications, enquiries and notifications are handled efficiently, accurately and in accordance with legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out administrative tasks associated with processing applications made under the Right to Information Act 2009 and Information Privacy Act 2009 , including privacy breaches, privacy complaints, mandatory data breach notifications and related matters.
- Manage file creation, maintenance and archiving to support accurate record‑keeping and compliance.
- Provide clear information and guidance on administrative processes, policies and procedures relating to RTI and IP applications, administrative access, privacy complaints, mandatory data breach notifications and privacy impact assessments.
- Compile information for correspondence, reports and briefings by conducting routine enquiries, searches and data gathering as required.
- Liaise professionally with applicants, affected parties, QBCC staff and other government agencies regarding RTI, privacy and administrative access matters (excluding decision‑making on information release).
