Description:

The position of Principal Management Accountant, within the Department of Premier and Cabinet, plays a key role in ensuring the department’s funding sustainability by managing key budget processes and strategies for the efficient and effective use of funds.

The Financial Services team within Corporate Services is looking for someone who can provide high quality expert financial advice and business support to the department.

In this role, you will lead the development of the State Budget Papers and internal annual budgeting activities, including analysis for Budget Committee Hearings, updates to Queensland Treasury's Tridata system, and management of budget tracking tools using SAP, Excel, Power BI or other automation tools. You will provide financial and investment analysis for project business cases to ensure value for money, while offering expert guidance in management accounting, forecasting, costing and performance reporting.

Additionally, you will review and improve financial systems and processes, deliver high-level analysis and insights and provide strategic advice on resource management, engaging with stakeholders across the department as required.
