The Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager sits within the Financial Services co-brand commercial team, responsible for the management of a portfolio of financial services partners, with a mix of majors and challenger brands. You will be responsible for managing and growing existing partnerships across cards and non-cards products, plus identifying and onboarding new partners.
This position leads partnerships end to end, driving revenue growth and profitability, with strong collaborative partnerships, including negotiations and contracting to day to day partnership execution. This role works closely and collaboratively with all other Qantas Loyalty functional areas from marketing, technology, digital product, legal, finance to deliver on our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities May Include
- Owns the end to end management for strategic partnerships within the co-brand financial services portfolio
- Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with external partners, and internal Qantas Loyalty and Qantas Group stakeholders
- Lead commercial negotiations with partners, including commercial modelling and negotiation wargaming, facilitating contract execution, coordinating with internal stakeholders and leading partner discussions
- Develop and drive the implementation of strategic plans for each partnership in conjunction with partners and Qantas Loyalty marketing team for continuous growth, and meeting Qantas Loyalty’s and partners strategic objectives
- Lead the strategic analysis to identify new commercial opportunities
- Identify and recommend alternative revenue opportunities within existing commercial partnerships
- Develops and oversees mechanisms to track and report on the progress against business metrics to monitor success and provide performance updates
- Act as the escalation channels for all relevant stakeholders
- Provides leadership and support to the broader team to foster a positive and collaborative environment, whilst driving achievement of individual and team performance objectives
- Business related degree or relevant tertiary qualification
- 10+ years professional experience, including relevant exposure to large complex corporate environments and experience managing external partners. A background in commercial, finance, strategy or consulting roles would be considered
- Exposure to Loyalty, retail banking or broader financial services industries, in particular in personal lending or credit cards from a commercial lens highly valued
- Highly commercial, understands financial drivers of P&L results, commercial modelling skillset, experience in revenue generating business areas and managing a P&L
- Demonstrated experience of building and managing strategic partnerships as well as exhibiting strong stakeholder management (internal & external)
- Strong commercial negotiation skills and proven ability to influence business outcomes
- Extensive experience in business development activities including development of business cases and proposal for potential partner opportunities
- Demonstrates an innovative, collaborative and responsive style
- Takes ownership of, and personal accountability for decisions and actions
- Thrives working in a cross-functional team environment, where collaboration happens every day to drive the business forward to deliver exceptional results
