Senior Program Officer - AO6The Senior Program Officer, Youth Justice Commissioning and Investment, plays a critical role in administering the Kickstarter grants program to support vulnerable young people, including those at risk of or already involved in youth justice.
This role involves the development and implementation of grant programs, data analysis/reporting, projects, and initiatives, as well as fostering stakeholder engagement to achieve the program's objectives.
With expertise in grants program systems and support, the successful candidate will focus on ensuring the delivery of quality outcomes for young people and maximising the value of public investment.
As Senior Program Officer, You Will Specifically
- Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Implement and develop data quality and reporting tools that showcase the effective delivery of culturally appropriate and responsive service and program responses to key stakeholders including young people, government and community organisations.
- Engage, consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, in a culturally appropriate and safe way, to support the development of effective data analytics and program options to deliver and maintain quality services for vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in, youth justice.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders towards the development and implementation of whole-of-government program initiatives relating to the programs that support vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in, youth justice.
- Undertake research, data analysis and interpretation to support advice to government and regional departmental staff.
- Prepare data analytics for a range of written materials including cabinet submissions, executive correspondence, briefing material, speech notes and information papers concerned with the programs and initiatives for vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in, child safety and/or youth justice.
- Collaborate with other departmental staff in the management of communication and information activities to ensure broad awareness of issues affecting Queenslanders.
- Develop and maintain systems for the effective monitoring and review of programs for vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in, child safety and/or youth justice.
