Are you an experienced aviation or facilities professional ready to step into a leadership role at a regional airport? This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in the safe, efficient and high-quality operation of a Local Government airport facility.

We are seeking an Airport Team Leader to lead a small, skilled team and support the delivery of essential airport logistics, maintenance and aerodrome operations. Reporting to the Airport Facility Manager, you will combine hands-on operational expertise with strong planning, compliance and people-leadership skills.

About The Role

As Airport Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day airport maintenance, logistics and security operations;
  • Plan and manage staff rosters to ensure continuous compliance and service delivery;
  • Oversee inspections, audits and asset maintenance programs;
  • Develop and implement annual works programs to maintain airport infrastructure, facilities and surrounds;
  • Coordinate airside and landside works, including Method of Works Plans;
  • Undertake administrative responsibilities including reporting, purchasing and financial reconciliations; and
  • Perform Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) and Works Safety Officer (WSO) duties as rostered, in accordance with CASA regulations, MOS 139 and the Aerodrome Manual.

This role supervises three direct reports and plays a critical role in maintaining safety, compliance and customer service standards at the airport.

About You

You are a proactive leader with substantial experience in airport, aviation, maintenance or operational environments. You bring:

  • Proven leadership and team coordination skills
  • Strong planning, organisational and administrative capability
  • A practical, safety-focused approach with sound knowledge of risk management
  • The ability to work independently, adapt to change and drive service improvement
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • An understanding of Local Government operations and legislative compliance (NSW desirable)

Essential Qualifications & Licences

  • Class C Drivers Licence (LR Driver Licence desirable);
  • Airport Security Identification Card (ASIC);
  • Aerodrome Reporting Officer Certificate;
  • Aerodrome Works Safety Officer Certificate;
  • Radio Communication Certificate of Proficiency; and
  • Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision).

Desirable

  • AQF Level 3 Chemical Application and AQF Level 4 Chemical Risk Management.
  • Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
  • Firearms Licence (or ability to obtain).
