The Principal Project Officer, Benefits Realisation plays an important role in supporting the delivery of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity focuses on measuring benefits leading up to and for a decade beyond the Games. This role contributes to whole-of-Games coordination and supports senior Queensland Government stakeholders and Games Governance Groups to have a structured, aligned and integrated approach to planning, measuring, tracking and communicating the benefits from the Games for a lasting impact. Your primary responsibility will be to support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Games Benefits Realisation Framework.Working within the Benefits Realisation team, the role requires a strategic, resultsoriented professional with expertise in project delivery and stakeholder engagement across government, industry, and community. The position involves working collaboratively with internal and external partners to establish standards and systems for measurement of benefits, enabling clear and accurate communication of benefits over the period leading up to the Games and beyond to 2042.
In This Role You Will
- Support the design and implementation of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Benefits Realisation Framework, collaborating with Games Delivery Partners, Queensland Government agencies and a range of stakeholders to measure and track whole of Games benefits including for economic, social, environmental, First Nations, and accessibility and inclusion outcomes.
- Provide strategic input to guide the development of elements of the Benefits Realisation Framework including program logic, indicators, methods, and processes, in collaboration with multiple delivery agencies across all planning phases of the Games lifecycle.
- Identify and lead the development and delivery of benefits management projects and initiatives, such as development of capability uplift tools and materials, by engaging proactively with Queensland Government agencies and external stakeholders, demonstrating influence and effective management of complex relationships.
- Support the Legacy and Impact function to establish and integrate robust measures to support reporting on the legacy initiatives and outcomes delivered across the Games Delivery Partners.
- Build strong relationships with local, state, and federal agencies, the Organising Committee (OCOG), and key Games Delivery Partners to support alignment and consistency of benefits management activities.
- Co-ordinate high-quality reports, briefings, and dashboards for the Games Coordination Executive, senior leaders, and senior Games governance groups, leveraging digital solutions.
- Support Secretariats, manage working groups and prepare meeting materials and briefings for Ministers and Senior Executives.
