Are you an experienced Principal Project Officer who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment?

We have two exciting opportunities to join the Strategy and Policy team. The Strategy & Policy team delivers complex, high-impact statewide projects and initiatives that directly support schools and their communities. Working with the wider team, these roles lead end-to-end project delivery.

These temporary opportunities are available from 2 February 2026 to 31 December 2026.

About The Role

In this role, you may be required to:

  • Lead research, consultation, analysis and evaluation of significant projects and programs, often operating within or informing policy and procedural frameworks, to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Provide strategic advice on program and project design, implementation and continuous improvement, with consideration of relevant policies, procedures and governance requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, including preparing documentation, monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes, ensuring alignment with departmental policy and procedural obligations.
  • Develop high-quality communication materials, executive briefings and reports tailored to diverse audiences, including materials that support policy or procedural change.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in a way that is practical, compliant and outcomes focused.
  • Monitor and report on performance and implementation data to inform strategic and policy-related decisions.


About You

We are looking for experienced professionals who:

  • Thrive in dynamic environments and can effectively manage competing priorities across projects, policy and procedural considerations.
  • Are skilled communicators and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to interpret and apply policy and procedural requirements.
  • Have a proven track record of delivering successful project outcomes, ideally in policy-influenced environments.
  • Can produce clear, high-quality project and supporting documentation, including materials linked to policy or procedural change.
  • Are adaptable and confident in working with new systems, processes and evolving policy settings.
