About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Associate Professor in Rural Nursing to lead innovative teaching, world‑class research, and impactful partnerships that strengthen health and wellbeing across regional and rural communities.
As a senior academic in the La Trobe Rural Health School, you will:
Lead high‑quality teaching, curriculum design and course innovation Conduct internationally significant research with real‑world rural impact Supervise HDR students and contribute to research leadership Build national and international partnerships to advance rural health Mentor, coach and develop academic staff Play a key role in shaping the Nursing discipline and supporting the next generation of rural health professionalsThis position is based at our beautiful Bendigo campus, with access to collaborative research centres including the Violet Vines Marshman Centre for Rural Health and the John Richards Centre for Rural Ageing Research.
About You
You will have:
A PhD or equivalent standing in Nursing or a relevant discipline A distinguished record of research with national/international recognition Proven success in external research funding Demonstrated leadership in curriculum development and teaching excellence Strong publications in high‑impact journals A track record of successful HDR supervision Outstanding ability to build sustainable industry and community partnerships Registration as a Dual Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (AHPRA/NMBA)Why La Trobe?
