Role Overview


We're looking for a Strategic and Comms Planning Lead to join our strategy team. This role will report into the Head of Product. Someone who’s just as comfortable crafting upstream strategic thinking as they are mapping out the downstream realities of channel, media, and content execution.


This role is all about helping to shape ideas people feel and then plotting the path for how they connect and build in the real world and through media.


You’ll uncover sharp insights, help fuel ideation, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure strategy doesn't sit on a deck — it moves through every impression a brand makes.


You will play both “architect and hands on doer” - building the strategic connections discipline, demonstrating its impact, and providing best in class connection planning delivery.


You’ll design tools and systems for connection planning across CP’s Impact, Imagination & Impressions model. Your leadership will drive excellence in comms planning, lift team capability, and inspire connected thinking that helps fuel agency growth.

Responsibilities


Best in Class Delivery - Connections/brand planning
  • Lead integrated strategies: Drive the development of brand and/or connections strategies for existing and prospective clients across hero channels.

  • Translate strategy into action: Be the guiding strategic voice that translates client’s brand (& silo’d channel strategies) into clear, actionable comms ecosystems that connect the dots between commercial impact and creative idea.

  • Drive collaboration: A guiding strategic partner for all CP disciplines heads (Social, Earned, Media, Creativity), client teams & their agency villages to identify innovative connections opportunities that maximise attention and action.


Demonstrating Impact - Client, Agency, Industry
  • Inspire clients: Lead strategic conversations that help senior stakeholders understand how connection strategy drives both creative and commercial outcomes.

  • Unlock opportunities: Build strong relationships with media partners and platform reps to unlock new tools, formats, and opportunities.

  • Inspire Growth: Contribute to new business pitches and build CP’s industry reputation with a clear, compelling point of view on connection strategies.


  • Write compelling impact case studies.


Building the Discipline - Team Leadership & Capability Building
  • Build the discipline: Utilising CP’s existing philosophy establish the frameworks, processes & outputs of connections/brand planning across the agency. And ensure that it is delivered with best in class quality & consistency.

  • Elevate capability: Build confidence and expertise in connections thinking across the agency. Mentor client service team in delivering connections craft and, as the business/discipline demands expands, lead the recruitment and development of new strategic talent

  • Champion integration: Collaborate with key agency leads to make connections, thinking a natural part of every hero project.
