THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for a graduate role commencing in our laboratory for initial training in the execution of metallurgical testwork before moving into our metallurgical and process engineering group. Professional and technical training and development will be provided.
The successful candidate will be a recent chemical engineering or metallurgical engineering graduate with less than 2 years’ experience. This is an entry level position which will progress through Core’s Graduate Training Program. The successful candidate is expected to gain a thorough understanding of first principles of metallurgical processes through first carrying out laboratory tests. It is then intended to offer professional development opportunities in carrying this knowledge across into process engineering and project management activities. Initially the position will be reporting to the GM Laboratory Operations.
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Chemical Engineering / Metallurgy / Mineral Processing.
- A strong focus on safety, quality and team work
- Interest or experience in flotation
- High level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- High level written communication, presentation and report writing skills.
- Strong planning & organisational skills.
- Sound computing skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- High level numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities as required.
