Description:
We are seeking multiple Principal Procurement Officers who will provide advice, information and tactical support to senior officers and service areas in relation to procurement strategies which support the department in meeting its service delivery requirements.You will provide support across the department ensuring alignment with the Queensland Government’s Procurement Strategy and the Queensland Procurement Policy.
As a Principal Procurement Officer, You Will
- Develop and support procurement services strategy, governance frameworks and plans in line with strategic outcomes defined by the department and/or government.
- Provide high level strategic advice and analysis to senior management and departmental officers on procurement practices by maintaining a sophisticated knowledge of contemporary issues impacting on procurement.
- Oversee complex submissions, plans, reports, briefing materials and correspondence on significant procurement related issues relevant to the department.
- Develop, implement and review procurement systems, policies and procedures, and training to deliver effective and efficient strategic procurement within the department in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Manage strategic procurement functions to ensure best practice and coordinate the establishment of supply arrangements, including provision of expert advice on specifications, evaluating offers, contract management and/or administration, supply market analysis and other general procurement activities.
- Establish and maintain strategic and effective working.
