Your Opportunity

As the Director, Student and Faculty Support Services you will be responsible for:

  • Provide management and supervision of all functions of the Student and Faculty Support Services work unit comprising of Student Management; Administration support for User Choice Delivery; Apprentice and Traineeship Induction Services (ATIS); English as an Additional Language (EAL); Delivery Planning, Vocational Placement and Work Experience; Delivery Logistics, Student Support (Counselling); AccessAbility Support; Indigenous Support; Learning Skills and Skills Check; International Student Support); Rolls management; Logistics and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
  • Develop and promote a business culture strongly aligned to achieving organisational objectives and continuous improvement.


This position reports to the General Manager, TAFE Queensland Gold Coast.

This Expression of Interest is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 10/07/2026 unless otherwise determined.

The position will be based primarily at Ashmore campus, however you will be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

The Total Remuneration Package (TRP) for this role is to be negotiated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a multi-functional student and faculty support team across multiple campuses in the development, implementation and maintenance of professional and efficient services that enhance the student experience.
  • Provide strategic advice, information and support to key stakeholders across the key support areas including Delivery Planning, Delivery Logistics, Student Support and Student Management including User Choice Administration (see full list in Your Opportunity section)
  • Lead and oversee change management initiatives across Student and Faculty Support Services, ensuring effective planning, communication, stakeholder engagement and implementation to support organisational transformation and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the provision of effective student services through high level involvement in the allocation and management of resources, budget formulation and the application of compliance controls and review processes as they relate to the portfolio.
  • Develop, implement and maintain effective communication networks with other Regions to leverage skills expertise to enhance TAFE Queensland Gold Coast’s student and faculty support processes and systems.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the Student and Faculty Support Services operations and introduce changes where required, that fit with TAFE Queensland’s strategic direction with emphasis placed on efficiency savings.
  • Contribute to the achievement of high quality outcomes through building a positive organisational culture by engaging staff in collaborative decision making promoting a shared vision and unity.
  • Continuously promote new ways of improving efficiency by reducing cost and enhancing outcomes.
  • Provide leadership on individual and team performance and future goals.
  • Manage communication and actively engage with industry, business and the community where required.
  • Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health and safety, wellness and sustainability.
  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer; Showing Initiative and Taking Responsibility.


How You Will Be Assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  • High level skills in the management of a complex, multi-disciplinary team directly relevant to one or more of the following:
    • Delivery Planning
    • Delivery Logistics
    • Student Management
    • Student Retention
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and manage organisational change initiatives, including the ability to develop and implement structured change management plans and support staff through periods of transition to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the vocational education and training sector with the proven ability to lead a compliant, efficient and future focused student and faculty support service.
  • Proven ability to build, influence and maintain collaborative working relationships to support effective key stakeholder engagement to strengthen service delivery and achieve shared outcomes.
  • Demonstrated high level ability to analyse complex organisational and strategic issues and implementing effective solutions that support organisational objectives and continuous improvement.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in the management and leadership of administration practices and support services in the VET sector.
  • Relevant related qualifications in leadership and management; or education and training.
