Investment Analyst - Private Equity (Superfund with Global Investment Mandate)

My client is an industry-leading superfund with a genuinely global investment mandate. Their Private Equity team currently manages a portfolio of over $10bn with a mandate to invest ~$2bn a year across alternatives, both in Australia and abroad.
This represents an opportunity to work in my client’s global HQ to help drive investment decisions and maximise investment performance in the asset class. The role will report to the Head of Private Equity and will support the PE team in executing and managing investment activities within the asset class.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Participate in the due diligence of and building strong relationships with fund managers across the globe
- Identifying, sourcing and evaluating fund, co-investment and co-underwrite opportunities
- Provide oversight and management of end-to-end deal processes, including delivery of investment committee papers and materials
- Assist in the negotiation of favourable terms on all investment opportunities
- Assist in evaluating and executing secondary purchases and sales
- Actively monitor existing investments and contribute to data insights and portfolio analytics
- Provide broader thematic, strategic and risk-management related assistance to the team’s investment activities
Key attributes for the successful candidate will include:
- Strong interest and understanding of transactions across the full investment lifecycle
- Ability to identify key themes to source attractive investment opportunities
- Energetic with the ability to work cohesively within the investment team
- A curious mindset with a solid knowledge of financial and operational concepts including valuation theory
- Demonstrated financial modelling capability
- High energy, deep curiosity and a natural skepticism
- Resourceful and efficient researching methodology
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications within Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce or Law. Postgraduate qualification such as CFA program would be well regarded.
This is an exceptional opportunity to be involved in the growth of a Private Equity team within a highly regarded investment platform. You will ideally have ~18 months – 2 years’ experience within corporate finance, investment banking, funds management, transaction advisory, limited partnership, or sell-side equities with exposure and demonstrated interest in private equity managers and related transactions.
