The UTS Business School, one of the University’s larger and more complex faculties, is seeking to appoint an experienced and strategic Faculty General Manager (FGM) to play a critical leadership role in shaping and enabling the School’s future.
About the role
The Faculty General Manager is a senior leadership role with responsibility for providing strategic and operational leadership across the Business School’s professional services, financial management, workforce planning, governance, and business operations.
Working as a trusted strategic partner to the Dean and Faculty Executive, the FGM plays a pivotal role in enabling the School’s strategic priorities, supporting major change initiatives, and ensuring strong governance, performance, and accountability across a complex operating environment.
The role oversees substantial budgets, diverse academic and professional workforce profiles, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholder relationships, including central support divisions, industry partners, and professional and accreditation bodies. The FGM also plays a key role in ensuring the Business School meets regulatory and compliance obligations associated with internationally accredited business education.
This is an opportunity to contribute at a senior level to the leadership of a globally connected Business School during a period of ongoing transformation and strategic development.
To be successful in the role, you will have;
A tertiary qualification (including at postgraduate level) in a relevant discipline, together with extensive senior management experience Significant knowledge of higher education sector governance and management processes, including people, technology, financial and infrastructure issues Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and policy development, planning, policy review and implementation Outstanding leadership skills, including the capacity to initiate, lead and manage process and structural change in a complex environment with diverse stakeholders Proven experience in leading and delivering major strategic programs , aligned with faculty and divisional priorities.For the full list of selection criteria and role responsibilities, please download the Position Description (available in the Documents section).
Remuneration & Benefits
A competitive salary package is on offer for the successful candidate. This role is classified as an SSG2.
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
This position is full-time and an appointment will be made on a continuing basis
