What You’ll Be Do

  • Lead the Corporate Governance Team and mentor staff
  • Advise on governance, compliance, and legislative matters
  • Oversee Corporate Governance activities including local government elections, and internal management practice and policy reviews
  • Drive local government reform initiatives
  • Manage complaints, integrity, and compliance frameworks
  • Develop high-quality reports and documents to Council
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Lead special projects and strategic research

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

We’re seeking a governance leader with a passion for public sector excellence. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Management, Law, or Public Sector
  • Proven team leadership and development skills
  • Significant experience with WA Local Government Act
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building
  • Experience managing sensitive and confidential issues
  • Ability to lead complex projects and drive reform
