Job Description

The People Manager acts as a key strategic HR business partner to the relevant Qantas business units. This position leads and drives the People plan, initiatives, programs and supports the business to achieve its operational objectives. This role has joint responsibility with business leaders to ensure the growth, development and engagement of all employees. The People Manager will partner with a number of Senior Leaders within their business unit, supporting Qantas Engineering or Airports to build a strong foundation for the future.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

  • Strong HR business partnering capability with experience in an operational and industrial workforce
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically partner with business in large organisation
  • Proven ability managing change and building organisational capability
  • Strong stakeholder management ability
  • Proven ability to work in a matrixed environment with a geographically dispersed workforce
  • Commercial acumen and proven ability to understand the operation
  • Proven interpersonal and relationship development skills
  • The ability to work autonomously whilst remaining collaborative and considered as a part of a broader team
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with an ability to communicate in both technical and business language
  • Driven to succeed, self-motivated and able to work independently with limited direction or guidance
  • Tertiary qualification in HR/Business related degree or equivalent experience required
