About The Role
We're looking for an Infrastructure Specialist to join our IT team and play a hands-on role in supporting and developing our IT infrastructure. You'll work across servers, networking, and end-user support, helping to keep our systems running smoothly while contributing to improvement projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of experience who wants to deepen their technical skills in a varied, practical role. Your work will directly support our operational performance, ensuring stable, secure, and high-quality IT outcomes for our people and our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve core infrastructure including Active Directory, VMware virtualisation, Windows Server environments, and Microsoft 365
- Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure such as switches, firewalls, VLANs, and wireless systems
- Administer hosted and cloud-based solutions, ensuring they align with business and technical requirements
- Support and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure operational resilience
- Deliver technical support across network environments, including WAN/LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, remote management, and security
- Implement and support remote access solutions such as VPN and Terminal Services
- Monitor system alerts and notifications, responding promptly through established service ticket processes
- Provide escalation support for complex technical issues raised by the service desk
- Maintain and regularly update system documentation
- Participate in change management processes and contribute to infrastructure projects
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, keeping them informed of incident progress, changes, or planned outages
- Pursue relevant industry certifications as part of ongoing professional development
- Assist in fulfilling security and compliance requirements
Required Experience and Skills
- You should have around 3-5 years of experience in an infrastructure or systems administration role. We're looking for demonstrated ability in the following areas:
- Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022), including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Experience with VMware vSphere, including managing ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machine lifecycle
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, particularly Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD), and related security features
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching concepts
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise network equipment including firewalls
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions and storage technologies (SAN/NAS)
- Understanding of ITIL principles for incident, problem, and change management
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot under pressure
- Ability to work independently and show initiative in planning and prioritising work
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as SCCM or Intune
- Exposure to hybrid cloud environments or Azure IaaS
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001)
- Experience with enterprise antivirus, EDR, or SIEM solutions
Formal qualifications aren't essential, but relevant certifications would be advantageous. These might include Microsoft certifications (such as AZ-104, AZ-800/801, or MS-102), VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, or CompTIA Network+ and Security+.
As per Konica Minolta compliance procedures, the successful candidate will be required to undertake background checks.
