Cross River Rail is delivering a new 10.2km rail line, including 5.9km of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD, with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street. This new link will provide an alternative rail path through the core SEQ network, removing a major bottleneck and enabling more frequent train services across the wider region.
The Delivery Authority is also delivering supporting works with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, including accessibility upgrades for eight stations, three new Gold Coast stations, stabling yard upgrades, track and surface rail enhancements, and the rollout of a new ETCS digital signalling system.
About The Role
The Creative Lead is a senior specialist who independently drives the full creative process from concept through to delivery and quality assurance. The role provides strategic direction and develops visual stories for campaigns, public information and stakeholder materials.
With advanced video and multimedia skills, the role produces filmed, animated and motion‑graphic content, managing all stages from on site capture to editing, motion design and post‑production. It oversees complex multimedia projects to ensure outputs are optimised, accessible and effective across platforms and formats.
The Creative Lead owns the creative lifecycle, setting direction and ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and brand intent. The role may require work outside standard hours due to content capture needs. Based in Brisbane's CBD with flexible work options, this position is offered as a fixed‑term contract until March 2028, with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end creative process from concept to delivery and quality assurance.
- Develop strategies that turn complex information into clear, engaging visual communication for campaigns, public information and stakeholder materials.
- Create tailored concepts by interpreting briefs, audience needs and organisational objectives.
- Independently produce high quality multimedia content including filmed, animated and motion‑graphic work managing all stages from capture to editing, motion design and post‑production.
- Manage approval pathways by engaging stakeholders, addressing feedback and ensuring timely endorsement.
- Oversee multimedia workflows to ensure outputs are accessible, brand‑compliant and optimised for platforms and formats.
- Provide specialist advice on visual communication, channel use, message hierarchy and audience impact.
- Guide external creative partners by reviewing concepts and approving final outputs.
- Senior strategic creative thinking with the ability to turn complex information into high‑impact visual communication aligned to organisational objectives.
- Advanced design, video and multimedia skills to independently deliver complex, engaging public‑facing content across platforms and formats.
- Sound judgement and autonomy to manage ambiguity, creative risk, approval pathways and reputational impact.
- Leads complex project and approval management by coordinating workflows, priorities and stakeholder endorsements across competing deadlines.
- Influences stakeholders and provides authoritative advice that shapes creative direction, communication approaches and outcomes.
- Meets quality and governance requirements through rigorous assurance while maintaining strong brand stewardship.
- Proven ability to introduce improved creative approaches, tools or workflows that increase impact and efficiency.
