This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.40FTE), 29 hours + 4hrs ADO per fortnight.
This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

About The Role
This part-time, temporary position is for 2 days per week until 12 July 2026 unless otherwise determined
The hours are 7:15 AM to 4:00 PM, totalling 7.25 hours per day.
Additionally, an extra 1 hour per day will be provided to maintain wages during school holidays, bringing the total to 8.25 hours per day.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, distributing and setting up equipment, materials and chemical solutions for science practicals and demonstrations.
- Maintaining science laboratories, preparation rooms and storerooms in a clean, safe, orderly and secure condition.
- Safely handling, storing, preparing and disposing of chemicals and laboratory waste in accordance with departmental guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Operating laboratory equipment and undertaking routine maintenance and calibration in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Assisting teachers during practical classes, demonstrations, fieldwork and excursions, including instruction on the safe use of equipment.
- Managing stock control systems, registers and databases including chemical, hazardous substances and asset registers.
- Supporting STEM initiatives and providing technical advice to teaching staff to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Assisting with budgeting, ordering supplies, receipting deliveries and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required to support science programs.
