Description:
The Executive Manager, Governance and Policy is a senior role that plays a pivotal role in driving projects that strengthen governance frameworks and enhance operational effectiveness within the Clinical Hub. The role is responsible for developing and implementing contemporary corporate governance arrangements and providing advice with respect to policy development, risk management, compliance, business improvement and planning processes in accordance with the priorities of the QAS.The role will support the Director, Clinical Hub as required, to ensure all initiatives align with strategic objectives, meet regulatory obligations, reflect best practice standards and work in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders to create robust governance across the Clinical Hub and deliver better outcomes to the community on behalf of the Queensland Government.
We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
- Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills, and the proven ability to successfully apply them to complex issues in the areas of governance, risk management, compliance, business performance and improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team, driving the development and implementation of policies and procedures that strengthen governance frameworks and enhance operational effectiveness, quality assurance, risk mitigation and best practice service delivery across the QAS Clinical Hub.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the process of policy, organisational performance and planning development, and how these are best deployed to contribute to organisation and Clinical Hub business requirements.
- Demonstrated applied knowledge of the concepts, strategies and issues associated with public sector corporate management, and the proven ability to provide high quality advice and solutions to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Superior level of skill in communicating, consulting and negotiating at an organisational level, and in cultivating effective and influential relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong ability to prepare and present complex information, policies, reports and recommendations to executive leadership, governance committees and external partners.
- Whilst not mandatory, possession of relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification/s will be highly regarded.
