Description:

Draft, review, and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (corporate, utility-scale, and government PPAs).

Advise on hedging structures, firming contracts, and energy derivatives, including CfDs, swaps, options, and risk-mitigation instruments.

Provide guidance on project structuring, compliance, and regulatory frameworks in renewable energy markets.

Support commercial teams with strategic advice on market trends, contract risks, and pricing mechanisms.

Liaise with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to facilitate successful transaction execution.

Prepare briefing notes, risk matrices, and negotiation strategies for senior leadership.

Ensure all documentation meets legal, regulatory, and internal governance standards.

Requirements:

Law degree and eligibility to practice in a common-law jurisdiction.

Extensive PPA experience (minimum 7-10+ years) across renewable energy projects (solar, wind, storage, hybrid).

Demonstrated experience with energy derivatives, financial hedging instruments, or merchant market structures.

Proven track record in a major renewable company, utility, or top-tier law firm.

Strong negotiation skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced deal environment.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Exposure to international PPA markets (US, EU, Middle East, APAC).

Experience with green hydrogen, storage, or hybrid renewable projects.

Familiarity with emissions markets, RECs, LGCs, and voluntary carbon schemes.
