The purpose of this position is to work as part of the team responsible for data and analytics relating to investment and commissioning activities across the department. You will work with existing programs and strategies and support design, development, and implementation of new solutions to managing and tracking service delivery and expenditure to ensure the department achieves desired outcomes in the provision of child protection services.
Your Responsibilities
The Principal Analyst key responsibilities are:
- Provide high level advice using advanced oral and written communication on issues affecting the Queensland family support and child protection system for internal and external stakeholders, that can be drawn upon to inform strategic planning and policy deliberations.
- Provide project management leadership, including the ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Lead the design and implementation of performance reporting frameworks, business intelligence reports and dashboard analytics, to support performance monitoring across the child protection system and meet agency reporting requirements.
- Lead and coordinate complex analyses, modelling of future system demand, and scenario modelling
- Develop and maintain effective data-related governance arrangements and linkages between stakeholders to achieve high level program outcomes and departmental objectives.
- When required, represent the department on cross-government committees and working parties to inform decision-making in the development of strategic policy directions, inter-departmental information management and sharing, and national performance reporting strategies.
- You are proficient in the use of applications such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI and other presentation and analysis tools used to obtain, process and present data for the analysis of departmental performance. You demonstrate knowledge and understanding of measuring performance and data quality principles. You apply best practice approaches to the collection, collation, interpretation, analysis and presentation of performance data and information.
- You are proficient in the use of statistical software packages and can perform statistical analyses.
- You have the ability to conceptualise and design datasets and related data analyses.
- Current resume containing details of two referees. At least one referee should have a thorough knowledge of your work over the past two years as your manager or supervisor.
- A statement not more than two pages, that summarises your skills, experience and achievements against the leadership competencies and duties/responsibilities of the position.
