Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process including close of sub-ledgers, inventory, accruals, prepayments, lease schedules, etc.
- Intercompany reconciliations and allocation of costings to correct brands/departments.
- Manage fixed assets.
- Balance sheet reconciliations & HQ required additional month end reporting.
- Supervise AP & AR functions and provide support.
- Prepare regular reporting packs to review business performance with local Retail Operations team.
- Prepare weekly cashflow forecast update.
- Prepare and lodge BAS/GST Return.
- Prepare annual FBT return working file.
- Assist with stock management including onsite stock take support twice a year.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting process.
- Assist with annual financial audit.
- Assist with annual Valuation Disclosure and Duty Refund.
- Assist with annual company income tax return.
- Assist with new system implementations.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls in accordance with the group’s policies and local statutory requirements.
- Maintain and keep proper records and accounts with supporting documents for the required statutory period
- Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures that reflect best practice.
- Make recommendations on all operational aspects and identify risks and opportunities to improve performance and productivity.
- Challenge efficiencies of the current process and proactively take initiatives to improve the status quo.
- Ad-hoc accounting and analysis duties as required.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Preferably with more than 3 years of experience in General Ledger/Financial Reporting area in retail industry
- Excellent data analysis skills with inventory management experience a plus
- Experience and proficient in accounting systems, such as SAP and Hyperion
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Positive teamwork attitude, excellent inter-personal communication skills, with good command in English and able to work under pressure, responsive and result driven
