AusDiagnostics (a fully owned subsidiary of R-Biopharm AG) is a successful and rapidly growing Biotechnology company manufacturing molecular diagnostic testing solutions. The Research Assistant will play a pivotal role within the R&D department in contributing to the achievement of our mission, to provide high quality and effective diagnostic tools to improve the health outcomes of patients within our communities.
We are searching for a skilful Research Assistant to join our team for a fixed term 12-month contract .
Key Duties
- Assisting with research as directed - this includes review of literature and post market feedback
- Work with Research Scientists to conduct laboratory work to test and validate new product designs, product improvements, and support ongoing activities
- Record and present results of experiments
- Process QAP samples and submit results
- Assist in troubleshooting issues raised by internal and external stakeholders of the business to support product performance
- Maintain records to ISO 13485 standards
- Help to maintain a safe work environment
- Participate in laboratory maintenance and cleaning tasks as required
- Participate in the activities required to transfer new products into Production
- Participate in Risk Management activities
- Participate in team meetings
- Assist in preparation for and participate in internal and external audits as required
- Prepare samples for sequencing
Required Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (*minimum requirement)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Bio Sciences or similar discipline
Desired Skills and Attributes
- 2+ years experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally within an R&D environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – this is a highly collaborative role.
- Strong Attention to detail.
- Excellent Analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent laboratory skills
- Must be fluent in English
