Continuing | Full-Time Higher Education Officer Level 7 | $100,233 - $110,954 plus 17% Super Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description

About the Role

We have an opening within our Cloud and Infrastructure team as the Senior IDS Infrastructure Officer. This pivotal role within our Information and Digital Services portfolio is responsible for the technical and operational implementation and support of the University’s cloud and infrastructure services.

As the successful candidate, you will ensure that customer needs for cloud and infrastructure systems are fully addressed and are consistent with best practice approaches.

Some of the key responsibilities of the position include:

Installing, maintaining, and monitoring cloud and infrastructure systems and services according to technical specifications and in accordance with agreed policies, procedures and service level agreements. Working collaboratively with the relevant stakeholders to provide support and assistance where needed and where priority requires. Supporting the relevant stakeholders in developing, implementing and managing the vision and associated roadmap for the University's infrastructure services, ensuring the vision and roadmap is aligned to the strategic objectives and relevant governance principles of IDS and Flinders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have proven experience in the following:

Windows System Administration skills: Proficiency in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based servers is essential. VMWare vCentre VM management skills desirable. SCCM Experience: Experience with System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) for managing large groups of Windows computers is required. Active Directory Experience: Expertise in managing Active Directory, including Group Policy management and Distributed File Systems (DFS) is crucial. Automation Experience: Demonstrated experience in automating system administration tasks, particularly automating repetitive manual tasks using PowerShell is necessary. Server Hardware: Proficiency in managing, configuring and troubleshooting server hardware, working alongside vendors to manage hardware replacements. Cloud Administration: Experience in Azure cloud administration is desirable, with Azure cloud certification being a plus. Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrated experience managing customer and vendor relationships.

Information and Digital Services (IDS) are a pivotal resource of the University, providing information and digital technology services and support to the Flinders University staff and student community. The IDS team apply technical expertise to support university projects and provide core services such as the IDS Service Desk, Audio visual, simulation and event services, Information security and identity access management services and more.
