Adelaide Full-day Full-time

Description:

Who We Are

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages distribution networks, transmission pipelines and storage capacity. AGIG recently grew to over 1300 employees. We will continue to work with customers and stakeholders to deliver and develop the energy infrastructure solutions essential to lowering emissions – including through natural gas, renewable gas and carbon capture and sequestration solutions.

Summarised Role Description And Purpose

AGIG is building a new Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) to strengthen how we deliver major projects and align our investment program with strategic priorities. As the Head of EPMO, you’ll lead the design and rollout of this enterprise‑wide function-shaping governance, standards and tools that uplift project delivery maturity across the organisation.

Reporting to the Group Head of Regulation, you will establish and embed a consistent framework for project planning, oversight and execution, while also directly overseeing Major Projects under the new model. Working closely with existing PMOs, you’ll bring connection, coordination and visibility across the project landscape, ensuring clarity and confidence in project performance.

This is a rare opportunity to build a critical function from the ground up, influence major investment decisions and deliver enterprise‑level impact at scale.

Responsibilities Of The Job Role

  • Design and establish the EPMO including structure, governance, and implementation approach.
  • Develop and embed an enterprise‑wide project governance framework, including policies, procedures, tools and templates.
  • Lead project management and oversight of Major Projects, ensuring alignment with the new governance framework.
  • Provide consolidated portfolio reporting to the Executive Leadership Team and the Investment Committee.
  • Coordinate and support existing PMO functions, driving consistency, assurance and enterprise‑level visibility.
  • Implement the transition to the new EPMO model and ensure it is adopted across the business.
  • Drive consistent, high‑quality reporting and decision‑making processes across all projects.
  • Champion AGIG’s values and foster a high‑performance, safe and inclusive culture within project environments.
  • Ensure Major Projects are delivered in alignment with AGIG’s Sustainable Communities strategic pillar.

Critical Skills, Experience And Qualifications

You are an accomplished project leader with deep experience delivering large‑scale infrastructure or utility projects and overseeing complex portfolios to budget, schedule and quality standards. You bring strong capability in designing and embedding governance frameworks that enhance transparency, accountability and consistency, supported by a solid understanding of regulatory requirements in the utilities or gas sector. You communicate with influence and credibility, engaging confidently with regulators, government bodies, investors and community stakeholders.

You’re known for leading high‑performing teams and guiding cross‑functional groups through complexity to achieve shared outcomes. With tertiary qualifications in project management or a related field, you bring strong knowledge of the energy sector and its regulatory processes. Above all, you provide clarity, structure and assurance - driving disciplined project delivery across the enterprise.
