The CompanyThis Australian organisation has been manufacturing and selling products to Australians and customers around the world for many years. As the business has continued to grow and innovate, they have a need to recruit a Supply Chain Director based in their head office in Sydney.
The Role
The Supply Chain Director will work directly with the CEO, and the leadership group, customers, and suppliers across a range of locations to focus on the following key responsibilities:
- Lead the operations at the manufacturing site to ensure the products are produced on time, safely and with high quality.
- Develop several significant opportunities for the business to increase volume through optimising the operation.
- Manage the performance of the organisation with clear accountability based on volume increase and cost and price variance
- Support and lead an operations-based team across planning/procurement, manufacturing, engineering & maintenance, warehouse & logistics, quality & safety to achieve/exceed KPI’s and deliver on productivity targets and operational improvement.
- Working with customers, senior leaders, commercial suppliers and service providers to identify opportunities for growth in new markets as well as product development and innovation.
- Ensure quality and safety standards comply with new government regulations. The Supply Chain Director should be aware of and engaged with initiatives such as quality and safety standards. This will ensure staff and the ELT will know what is required and have all the technical information they need to comply, and where possible, benefit from regulations.
- Leadership of the overall Operations and Supply Chain team to achieve objectives and strategic goals. Support and develop people as they advance their career within the organisation.
- As the Supply Chain Director and key member of the leadership team, prepare reports and input to the strategic plan and annual budget for the company.
- Develop and execute the business strategy that supports the strategic and operational objectives of the company through the achievement of targets within budgeted standards.
- Develop and support best practice operations facility that underpins the growth and profitability of the company.
- Develop and implement annual plans and manage and report on variance to standard, costs, safety, projects and other KPI’s on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Identify and drive opportunities to reduce costs without compromising on levels of safety, service and productivity targets.
- Establish and manage any capital expenditure program supporting the strategic plan of the business and ensure that all projects are effectively managed to deliver against the business case of approved Capex requests.

- Tertiary qualified, ideally in business where they can use their qualifications and experience to lead growth.
- Open to experience within food, beverage, consumer products industries.
- You must have experience leading a manufacturing team and have experience driving improvements across the supply chain.
- Understanding of the quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives across operational environments.
- High level communication, able to work in collaboration with a range of stakeholders globally.
- Able to work with a diverse leadership group, able to influence and drive strategies in conjunction with them.
- Strong leadership ability, able to inspire and improve performance through people.
- Commercial with an analytical skill set.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship development
