As Manager, Reform and Programs, Infrastructure Planning, you will play an integral role contributing to the reform of the planning framework and development of Regional Infrastructure Plans. You will engage with industry bodies, local governments, utility providers, regional stakeholders, project teams, and government agencies. This is your opportunity to advance the infrastructure reform review and engage closely with key stakeholders to agree scope. You will support development of regional infrastructure planning policy responses aligned with housing and economic growth land-use planning. Establish and lead a program office to support delivery of 13 regional infrastructure plans and ensure integration with the regional plan program of work.

For These Roles We Are Looking For Strengths In

  • Organise and establish the infrastructure reform review through development of high-quality issues papers, defining and agreeing the scope of work with key stakeholders, establishing governance, and undertaking procurement activities.
  • Review of research, analysis and interpretation of complex data and trends to inform infrastructure reform or regional infrastructure plan policies under relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the program of regional infrastructure plans, plan and allocate resources effectively to accomplish goals, drive productivity and quality, and review performance to ensure goal achievement and overall effectiveness.
  • Collaboratively solve complex problems, build a case for change, and communicate the outcomes effectively.
  • Work collaboratively and negotiate with senior management, project teams, government agencies and external stakeholders to ensure regional infrastructure planning project outcomes are achieved.
  • Establish enduring and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate infrastructure planning and policy development that delivers on government's objectives, including supporting engagement with federal and state agencies, local governments, infrastructure entities, industry bodies and technical experts.
  • Manage and oversee the preparation of high-quality correspondence, submissions, presentations, briefs and reports on complex and sensitive issues for the delivery of projects.
  • Provide leadership, mentor, coach and develop staff to provide advice on infrastructure planning issues and create a workplace environment that is consistent with the department's culture and values.
  • Contribute towards the collaborative, positive and inclusive culture of the Infrastructure Planning division, by supporting team members, Directors, the Executive Director and the Deputy Director-General in achieving departmental priorities and individual personal and professional goals.
  • Flexibility and agility as the requirements of this temporary role may evolve over time.
